    Where is Remount?

    Remounted is located in the Yass Valley NSW, approximately one hour drive from Canberra. Our visiting “Drovers” stay on site in the cottage or in comfortable camping accommodation with access to showers and a toilet.

    The Remount team catering for each event delivers delicious and healthy food satisfying every appetite.

    Remount has a no alcohol policy and there is always plenty of quality home cooked food, fruit, billy tea & coffee available throughout each day.

    Do I need experience with horses?

    No. Our instructors will tailor your tuition and partner you with a horse that suits your experience. Remount caters for beginners and experienced riders, and we guarantee you will learn new skills. All Remount instructors have decades of equestrian experience in a variety of disciplines, and all are happy to share their skills.

    Can my family come?

    Remount is focussed on veterans and their families. Some programs are designated for families and some for individuals.

    All you need to do is email ben@remount.org.au and outline your service history. Once a date is set for a program that suits you, your place is confirmed. Please make contact so we can answer all your queries and book you in.

    What does it cost?

    Remount is delivered at no cost to veterans and their families. All catering, on-site accommodation and tuition is complimentary.

    Our team is all volunteer based and undergo a thorough training and induction program. They are committed to serving you in every way.

    What do I need to bring?

    All your linen is supplied, and you will be eating three meals a day with breaks and snacks in between so no need to bring extra food.

    What if I have dietary requirements?

    Just email the team before your arrival and we will cater for all your dietary needs.

    What if I can't ride a horse?

    No need to worry there. Our mounted Instructors (Stockmen) will take you through a process that is tried and tested, and will have you comfortable in the saddle in no time.

    Do I need to pay?

    Remount is delivered at no charge to any current or former serving member of the ADF, and their families.

    Can I come to Remount if I am Police, Fire or Ambulance?

    Yes. As a first responder, many people need a break away from the stresses of these roles and Remount is the perfect program to assist.
